Measuring guide for coats, collars and muzzles.

Measuring guide for our Fleece-, Winter- and Raincoats

For our rain-, fleece- and winter coats you only need to measure your dogs’ spine length. Make sure your dog is standing up. On top of your dogs spine/shoulders you will be feel a hollow with your fingers. Once found, use a flexible tape to measure from the top of the spine to the beginning of the tail as shown in the picture.

Measuring guide for hoodies and jackets

For hoodies and jackets you need to measure your dogs’ spine length, chest girth and head size.
[A] Make sure your dog is standing up. On top of your dogs spine/shoulders you will feel a hollow with your fingers. Once found, use a flexible tape to measure from the top of the spine to the beginning of the tail as shown in the picture.
[B] For the chest you need to measure the widest past of the rib cage.
[C]Measure the widest part of the head so it fits through the snood of the jacket without any problems.
Please note: the fleece jackets contain little stretch and will never fit a chest size that is too small. If in doubt, take a size larger.

Measuring guide for snoods

Snoods have 3 standard sizes:
Size S = Italian Greyhound
Size M = Whippet
Size L = Galgo, Greyhound, Saluki, Podenco

How to measure a martingale collar

To measure your dog for a martingale collar you have to use a soft tape measure (or a piece of string). Measure the neck size (B). Because the collar needs to slip over the head, you also have to measure the widest point of it’s head (A). Choose the size that fits within this range to make sure that your collar fits.

How to measure a leather buckle collar

The size of our collars are measured from the buckle to the first and last hole. If you have a used leather collar that fits well you can measure that collar from the buckle to the used hole and get the right size. You can also measure the circumference of your dogs neck and then add 2 or 3 centimeters, as you don’t want the collar to be too tight. Example: if your dog has a circumference of 36 cm, order a collar that is at least 38cm.

Muzzle measuring guide

Our muzzles have standard sizes for Sighthounds:
Size 0: for Italian Greyhounds
Size 1: for Whippets.
Size 2: for Lurchers, large Whippets or small Galgos.
Size 3: for Greyhounds, Galgos, Podencos en Salukis.

Need help choosing the right size? Please use the following instructions:

Nose length
Measure from the tip of the nose to side of the head, just behind the ears (blue line). Choose a muzzle with the same or a shorter total (the muzzles have a strap to adjust the length to fit).

Circumference
Measure the circumference just before the tip of your dogs’ nose. Add approximately 6 to 12 centimeters to allow enough room for panting. To make sure you choose the right size please take a flexible tape measure (or string). Create a loop that measures the same as the circumference of the muzzle you want and hold the tape or string over the end of your dog's nose. This way you can mimic the size of the muzzle and you can check how much room your dog needs to pant. Our muzzles are suitable for dogs with a pointy nose such as Shepherds, Poodles, Dobermanns, Weimaraners, Viszlas and Border Collies. This makes our muzzles unfit for breeds like Boxers, Bulldogs, Pitbulls and Bull Mastiffs.
